I was fortunate that I did not know that I was wobbling along in heat that exceeded 100 degrees. There is no shade, just dry air hanging in the mirage in front of me. I carry two bottles of water for each two hour nonstop walking segment. That is not enough so my mouth is dry. Then joy! There is a lone tree hanging lazily over a muddy stream rippling ever so slowly to nowhere. Encouraged by this wonderful sight I wobble on.
