Today I fought the early morning chill meandering up four hills toward Fishing Bridge and the Lake House. Beware; there is no fishing on the fishing bridge! Rare cutthroat trout in May spawn right under the bridge. Overfishing in the past nearly wiped out this beautiful species. Now, in spawning season, flocks of water fowl and scores of bear’s bears relentlessly pursue this noble fish. Somehow the species survives.
Yards away a large bison out for an early morning stroll blocks the road. Thankfully, as no one else is yet awake, the beast grants me a photo opportunity before meandering off in to the woods to covert with a companion, and graciously allowing me to continue the day’s journey
