The Coldhead State Park is a nice place to visit. I liked it because the pine forest was well maintained and while walking along a dreamy ridge line the slight altitude kept the footing dry. A relief! And I liked the well preserved markers pointing out the plant life that make the park so ecologically interesting. A sign at the trailhead indicated that the Camp Belding exit to the trail was closed, “no way out!” So I took advantage of the alternative directed along route 100. The weather overcast, cold and drizzly was lousy but the moving was easy. I ended the day in the little berg Hampton, right on the train tracks.
