Real Farm Country in Stang
The corn and soybeans, of course, flutter across hundreds and hundreds of farm acres. They surround the little village of Stang. Farming is the only visible sign of commerce. Irrigation keeps the corn a faded but attractive green. The soybean plans are a sparkling emerald.
Farming is hard work. The blazing summer heat intensifies the difficulty of this noble work here in the heartland of America. Yet the folks here seem hearty, enthusiastic and happy. OK the senior citizens do show the wear of farm country life. Yet even the retired men still all seem to be active. They pack the tiny cafes at the break of dawn wearing overalls and musty shirts and talking farm lingo. And the senior women, well they are prim, proper and as American pie as anyone can possibly be.
