Rest At Last
I jumped out of bed at 5AM, dressed and headed for the coffee shop it was then that I realized this was my rest day. Disappointed but relaxed I returned to the hotel. I could not sleep so I massaged my throbbing feet.
I felt odd among regular town’s people and tourists at the local Laundromat. Dressed in shorts, a light shirt and wearing no socks I looked out of place in the morning chill. A short while later I was rewarded with freshly smelling clothes for the first time since my adventure began.
The book store provided me with a treasure trove of stories and oddities about the Yukon and the photo shop printed my many pictures n the committed one hour. I walked along the tracks of the Yukon Railway. I felt like a gold rush era miner trekking his way to the Chicot pass and the riches only a king could dream of finding.
Then another foot massage, a hot meal, a cold pint of Yukon beer, sleep and I was more that anxious to resume my Dream Walk to who knows where.
